Collaborative action research: an effective tool for
interdisciplinary education

This is the third review of car journal and I’ve been busy lately so I don’t have much time to review this. This collaborative research is new for me, and this study shows me that it’s have collaborative action research as an effective tool for improving the quality of education. Researcher have seen the positive effects both in terms of the teaching and learning process and the professional development of teachers. The educational process has improved in all phases. It has been stressed first in the design of programming, favoring globalizing interdisciplinary proposals. Also, the implementation process has improved both in the quantity and quality of significant contents worked as in the greater variety of methodological and didactic resources used.

Promoting Cultural Awareness in an International Business Program through Foreign Language Communication

     This is the fifth journal about culture awareness that I’ve read and the writer did the research in French, the method that writer had in this journal is worked and student can achieve the material with excellent way, and can contributes in a substantial way to their training to become competent global managers. Beside that Improving linguistic fluency and enhancing cultural awareness cannot be separated in the foreign-language classroom. Both are essential components for training future business professionals to operate effectively in today’s global workplace and maybe not only in workplace but in every situation.

Raising Cultural Awareness in the
English Language Classroom

After I’ve read this journal I learn that Cultural learning can be difficult to address in the English language classroom. Simple mastery of the linguistic forms of a language is not enough for learners to be considered competent in the target language and student cannot be called master in foreign language until they until they understand the cultural contexts in which the target language is spoken. Teacher need to have wide background knowledge and teach it carefully if not they could be wrong in the future. Student may never travel outside country and wondering why they should study it and the teacher’s role in this case really crucial to convince them.

Acquisition of Cultural Awareness in Pre-Service Teachers

This journal is about the desire of teacher educators in Australia that their mandated unit of study on multiculturalism and indigenous studies produces a cultural awareness in future teachers of the
issues faced by multicultural and indigenous students. The writer reports a study where one cohort of 119 pre-service teachers was surveyed in the first and last lectures of the unit on what they believed would be the factors affecting their teaching in multicultural and indigenous classrooms. Students moved from a perception that physical, religious and language factors
would be the main issues to their belief that prejudice, stereotyping, sensitivity and ethnocentrism
would be the factor they would need to work with. And the writer hope student could understand many point of view of this study and apply it in the classroom. For me this journal really helpful and it can help me to teach in the future.

The Development of Cross-Cultural (Mis)Understanding Through Volunteer Tourism

              This second journal ccu from Eliza Marguerite Raymond this method from the writer is new for me because she used volunteer tourism. Volunteer tourism has potential to help writer to understand more about cross cultural understanding and a sense of global citizenry among participants. In some cases, it may even reflect the ideals of  peace through tourism or  reconciliation tourism. This research has shown that, in many cases, volunteer tourism does have the potential to fulfil such ideals. However, existing literature as well as this study, has shown that it cannot be assumed that cross-cultural understanding automatically results from sending individuals to participate in VTPs. While this does not mean that volunteer tourism is without value for the volunteers and the communities they visit, it does suggest that it is essential for programs to be carefully developed and managed. Where individuals volunteer through sending organization these organization can play an important role in ensuring that stereotypes are broken rather than reinforced.

An Action Research Case Study on Students’ Diversity in the Classroom: Focus on Students’ Diverse Learning Progress

      This second journal is from Ruiting Wu and this journal about classroom action research, from this journal I can summarize that this action research case study investigated students’ diversity in the classroom with a particular focus on students’ diverse learning progress. And writer know that this study examined literature on the research of students’ diversity in order to seek a theoretical support for conducting this research. It also examined school policies and supporting systems in assisting diverse students in a single-sex primary school in Hobart. The writer particularly focused on how the Year One classroom teacher dealt with students’ diverse learning progress in her classroom. The writer also reflected the researcher’s own experience on addressing students’ diverse learning progress and made an action plan for improving primary school teaching in the future.
